There’s a certain rhythm to July in Healdsburg. The sun lingers a little longer, the pace softens, and even the most driven among us are tempted to lean into the stillness.

These are the lazy dog days of summer — and they’re a beautiful reminder of why I love living here.

My weekend mornings often start with coffee in bed while the town slowly wakes up. A quick check on the garden — basil, tomatoes, and the lavender buzzing with bees — and maybe a hike or tennis game. A stop at Big John’s for good cheese, maybe a chilled rosé, and dinner practically makes itself.

But on the hottest days, when cooking is the last thing I want to do, I take full advantage of Healdsburg’s incredible outdoor dining scene. I love meeting friends for rooftop cocktails at The Matheson, grabbing a casual bite at Healdsburg Bar & Grill, or lingering over small plates at Willi’s or Bravas. For a more elevated experience, Valette and Dry Creek Kitchen never disappoint. And just up the road in Geyserville, Diavola serves some of the best pizza around, while Arandas offers great Mexican fare and relaxed patio dining.

This isn’t vacation — it’s home. And this is the lifestyle that so many of my clients come here looking for.

Even during these slow, golden days, real estate doesn’t rest — and neither do I. Summer brings buyers to town, often for the first time, and I love watching them fall in love with this area the way I did. Sellers know this is the time to showcase what makes their homes special, and I’m there every step of the way — prepping, staging, marketing, negotiating.

While I fully embrace the beauty of this season — the dinners outdoors, late afternoon tennis, foggy mornings — I never stop doing what I love: helping others find their place here in wine country.

If you're dreaming of a home where summer feels endless, where every day offers a little peace and a lot of beauty, I’d be honored to help you find it.

Because here in Healdsburg, the lazy dog days aren’t just a season — they’re a way of life worth living.
