When people hear the words spring break, they usually picture airports, crowded beaches, and college towns buzzing with energy.

But spring break in Sonoma County feels very different.

Here, spring break isn’t about escaping somewhere else. It’s about stepping outside and realizing you’re already somewhere special.

This week especially, the weather has been unusually warm for March, the kind of warmth that pulls everyone outdoors. You see it everywhere, people walking through the Healdsburg Plaza, families out on the trails, bikes rolling along the country roads, and restaurant patios filling up earlier in the day.

The vineyards are beginning to wake up as well. The bright yellow mustard that covered the fields in winter is slowly giving way to new green growth, and the hillsides are starting to take on that vibrant color that signals the start of another wine country season.

For those of us who live here, spring break often means something simple and local. A walk along the Russian River. Coffee outside in the morning sun. Maybe a visit from family or grandchildren who have the week off from school and want to spend a few days enjoying wine country.

For me, this year’s spring break looks a little different. Instead of enjoying the warm weather back home in Sonoma County, I’m in Palm Springs with my 13-year-old granddaughter. And I have to say, I feel incredibly blessed that at this age she still wants to spend her spring break with us. At thirteen, life starts moving fast. Friends, school, and their own interests begin to take center stage. So the fact that she chose to spend her break with her grandparents is something I don’t take lightly.

Whether we’re sitting by the pool, going out for a little shopping, or just talking about life, these moments are the ones I treasure most.

Spring is always a season of renewal and fresh energy. For me, it’s also a reminder that the most meaningful parts of life aren’t the big events, they’re the small, shared moments with the people we love.

And I feel very lucky to have one of those moments this week.

On real estate, we have some incredible listings to hit the market the first of April so stay tuned. Feel free to reach out if you'd like more information.
