27 Years of Real Estate Success: Lessons, Coaching, and Thriving Through Change
When I started in real estate 27 years ago, I never imagined the journey would be as transformative as it’s been. This industry has not only shaped my career—it’s shaped who I am. From navigating unpredictable markets to building lasting client relationships, I’ve learned about growing a successful and sustainable career in real estate.
Real estate isn’t for the faint of heart. My early years were filled with long days, late nights, and deals that didn’t always go through. But I kept showing up, learning, and putting in the work. In this business, consistency beats intensity every time. Success comes from persistence and patience.
One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is that real estate is a relationship business. I’ve built a strong network by putting people first, not commissions. Many of my clients have become friends, and a significant portion of my business comes from referrals and repeat clients. Trust, care, and communication create longevity.
In 27 years, I’ve seen the industry evolve—from newspaper listings and faxed contracts to online platforms, digital marketing, and AI-enhanced tools. I’ve embraced those changes instead of resisting them. Staying open to innovation and technology has helped me remain competitive and efficient in a fast-paced market.
Even with decades of experience, I still believe I’m a student of the game. I invest in coaching regularly to sharpen my skills, stay accountable, and push beyond my comfort zone. I also prioritize staying current with the latest tools and technology, so I can provide the best experience for my clients. Growth doesn’t stop when you hit your goals—it begins there.
Real estate can consume you if you let it. Over the years, I’ve learned to create space for life outside of business. Family time, personal health, and self-care are part of the equation. A balanced life fuels a successful one.
Now that I’ve built a fulfilling career, I’ve found deep meaning in mentoring new agents and supporting my community. Success feels even better when you help others rise with you.
After 27 years in this business, I still wake up excited to do what I do. Real estate has given me the opportunity to grow, connect, and build a life on my own terms. For anyone just starting out—or anyone stuck and looking for the next level—know that growth is always possible if you stay hungry, stay humble, and keep evolving.
